While in Nauvoo we visited homes and shops that have survived the years, been restored, or been rebuilt from the original foundation. The missionaries there explained how equipment was used and how the Saints lived. We saw how to make rope, bread, rugs, candles, horse shoes, wagons, and the list goes on.
It took a lot of work to make a gun in the 1840's.

How cool to see Nauvoo! I went there when I was Emily's age and it was still one of my favorite family trips to this day.
It's interesting to me to see the way people used to live and think of all the things they had to do from scratch. Or at least to find in their own town. Looks like a great trip
